Live (& recorded) | 11am 7th JUly

Christmas gift guides are one of the biggest press wins of the year, and the planning starts now. Miss July and you’ve missed print.

In this live session, former Red Magazine Style Editor Alexandra Stedman takes you behind the scenes of how gift guides are built. She’ll show you how editors create their lists, what makes a product an instant yes and the small mistakes brands keep making.

You'll walk away with:

  • A pitching calendar for short-lead and long-lead Christmas coverage

  • A gift guide pitch template covering subject line, opening, product framing, imagery and follow-up

  • The exact product information and assets editors look for

  • How to increase your Q4 product placements

About Alexandra

Very few people have sat on both sides of the gift guide process, as the editor selecting products and as the creator being pitched. Alexandra is one of them. Alexandra has worked in fashion, lifestyle and publishing for over 20 years. As Style Editor at Red Magazine she ran the Christmas gift guides, styled main fashion shoots and celebrities, and edited shopping pages. As a freelance editor she went on to edit shopping supplements for Condé Nast Traveller and style high street campaigns. She founded the award-winning blog The Frugality in 2012, and now writes The R.U.E on Substack with a combined 500k+ following across that and Instagram (@alexandra.stedman).
